Visit to Renetech by Kenyan delegation, including Kericho Governor and Kenyan Ambassador to Sweden
Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai and team visited the Renetech office in Stockholm yesterday (November 10, 2025) along with the Kenyan ambassador to Sweden, H.E. Angeline Musili, MBS, for deliberations with Renetech CEO Mr Tom Walsh. Among other topics, the meeting included discussions regarding biochar production from coffee residues to enhance the tea plantation soils – creating a circular economy business in Kericho Kenya.
Kericho County is one of 47 counties in the Republic of Kenya, located in the South Rift of the Great Rift Valley in the western part of the country. The County occupies a total area of 2,436 Km2 and lies at an altitude of about 2000 m above sea level, at about 250 km distance from Nairobi. Kericho County economy is driven mainly by agriculture with tea being the main cash crop along with coffee and sugarcane. According to the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census, the County population was 901,777 with an annual growth rate of 2.4%.
